Ex-LNER Class B1 4-6-0 No. 61029 Chamois, one of a batch of forty of the class named after species of antelope, comes off Rossie Viaduct on the 1-in-88 climb from Montrose to Usan with the 12.20 Craiginches (Aberdeen) to Oxwellmains (Dunbar) cement empties on 31st August, 1965. In the background is Montrose Basin, a tidal lagoon through which the River South Esk flows into the sea. No. 61029 was built at Darlington Works in 1947 and withdrawn in December 1966. [Ken Plant]
